Card e-mandatemandate-based

How to cancel Card auto-pay (standing instruction)

Recurring charges on a debit/credit card run on an RBI e-mandate (standing instruction). Cancel via your card issuer.

  1. 1Bank net banking / app: Cards → Manage → “Recurring / e-Mandate / Standing Instructions” → select the merchant → Cancel.
  2. 2Some banks: call or SMS the card helpline to stop a standing instruction.
  3. 3Also cancel inside the merchant’s account page so it can’t re-register the card.
  4. 4For overseas subscriptions, remove the card from the merchant entirely.
Note: Under RBI rules merchants must let you cancel. If a charge still lands after cancellation, raise a dispute / chargeback with your bank.

App menus change often — if a step doesn't match exactly, look for Account / Profile → Subscription / Membership → Cancel or Manage, and always cancel the UPI/NACH/card mandate too. This is general guidance, not financial or legal advice.

Never get surprised by Card auto-pay (standing instruction) again.
